Another Former Mountie in the WLA
Former Mounties All-Star, Tom Acton, is enjoying the next big step in his lacrosse career. Tom is currently playing Sr A in the WLA with the Nanaimo Timbermen. Tom finished his Jr A career in 2008 with an outstanding Minto Cup performance and was one of the Mounties top defensive-transition players for his entire Jr A career. Best of luck Tom.

Former Mountie Signs with Sr A Club
Former Mounties All-Star, Tyler Pridham, has taken the next step in his lacrosse career and has recently signed with the Sr A Victoria Shamrocks of the WLA. Tyler finished his Jr A career in 2008 with an outstanding Minto Cup performance, was then drafted by the Calgary Roughnecks, and is now ready to put his mark on the WLA. Best of luck Tyler.

Jr A Pre-Season Tournament Planned
The Alberta Jr A division is planning the first ever pre-season tournament to be held in Red Deer in April 2009.

Mounties Alumni - Coming Soon
The Jr A Mountaineers are compiling an alumni list so the current club can stay in touch with all the past players, staff and supporters. Look for that coming soon.

New Associate Coaches Added
The Jr A Mountaineers are pleased to announce the addition of 2 new Associate Coaches to the existing staff, former Jr A Mountaineer standout Jason Crook, and Canadian lacrosse goal-factory Kevin Melnyk.

2008 Player Awards Given Out
The 2008 player awards were passed out to a group of very worthy recipients at the Jr A Mountaineers annual banquet in December.

Due to the current economic conditions, the 5th Annual Mountaineers Golf Tournament has been regrettably cancelled.

We would like to thank all of those who showed support for this tournament once again this year, and we hope to have the tournament back in 2010.

Up-to-date game schedules and player statistics are now managed and maintined on the Alberta Jr A Lacrosse website.

The 2008 Minto Cup was a fantastic success for the Calgary lacrosse community, the greater Alberta lacrosse community, and of course, the host club, your Jr A Mountaineers.
