It is anticipated that the Mountaineers main tryout / training camp will get started in the last week of March and continue through to the start of the season in May.

Dates are still being worked out but it hoped that sessions will be confirmed by March 16. When the schedule is available it will be posted under Player Camps.

Mountaineers executive has set the 2008 player registration fees at $450.00.

This is a $75.00 increase over 2007 but still makes the Mountaineers one of the less expensive teams in the province to play for. Plus, this fee better reflects the clubs true expense liabilities.

If it turns out you do not make the club then you will be refunded your registration fee less $25.00 per game played (this is the league administration fee for each game).

Subsidy Program

You are able to offset your registration fee through any sponsorship opportunities you are able to secure (In addition, making your payments can be done on an installment basis, with the first payment of 50% due April 1, 2008).

Here's how the program works:

For every $500.00 sponsorship you bring to the team, 40% of your player registration fee is subsidized (i.e. your fee is reduced by 40%).

In other words, if you bring in a sponsorship worth $500.00, then your registration fee is reduced by 40% ($190.00), bringing it to $285.00. If you bring in another $500.00 sponsorship, then your remaining fee is reduced by another 40% ($76.00) which would bring your registration fee down to $76.00, and so on.

The 2008 season pass is now available and are just $35.00.

Your season pass gets you into all Senior B, Junior A, and Junior B Mountaineers home games. That's a total of 27 games of great lacrosse entertainment all summer long.

You can purchase your season pass at the gate of any Mountaineers home game (the sooner you buy, the better the value of course) or, you can order your pass by sending an email to Assistant Manager with your request.

The Mountaineers are pleased to announce that long-time lacrosse fan and mother of two Mountaineers will be taking on the challenge of Assistant Manager for the 2008 season (lifetime post).

Cindy's primary responsibilities will be centralized around game-day tickets and season pass sales but we're confident we can find many other things for Cindy to do as well.

The RMLL has released the first draft of the 2008 schedule and right now things are looking very good for the Mountaineers.

While we won't have the final schedule from the RMLL until the beginning of April, it looks like the club may have its best schedule in years. Once completed, you can view the schedule under Calendar or Game Center.

The 2008 Senior draft is now complete and no team made out better then the Mountaineers.

Thanks to the acquisition of draft picks over the last few years, the club secured 6 of the top 10 draft picks, including picks 1, 2, and 4 overall, in what was a very strong draft year in terms of the top 5 or 6 players available.

The Mountaineers are now repositioned to compete extremely well on the floor for the 2008 season and seem to be ahead of the 3 year rebuilding process started last year. With the bulk of the team aged 22 - 25 and another core group aged 25 - 27, plus with 5 of the top 10 draft picks for 2009, the Mountaineers will be challenging for the Provincial Championship once again for many years to come.
